ABOUT BRIAN

Guitar enthusiast. Pedal junkie. Brian Schwager not only knows his gear but can melt your ears by playing only a handful of notes.

With his dad to thank for throwing a trumpet in his hand at the age of four, Brian has grown into the musician he is today. A bilingual musician, he masters any instrument he stumbles upon.

With his diverse background, once being a master trumpeter for Chicken Poodle Soup and former lead guitarist for Crawford County, Casey Muessigmann & Cody Hicks, Brian has had the opportunity to travel the Midwest and then some sharing the stage with renowned acts  like Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Eli Young Band, and many more.

Since stepping away from playing lead guitar with Crawford, Casey, & Cody, Brian has joined forces with Tom Buckmiller forming the Buckmiller | Schwager Band as well as doing select duo shows with Tom. In late 2021 the duo earned themselves a spot to compete in the 2022 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN after winning the Iowa Blues Challenge. In Memphis the duo advanced to the Semi Finals.

He has also recently teamed up with Robert Deitch & The Die Hards. Robert is a skilled songwriter who has honed his craft in Nashville for a number of years as a staff songwriter for Dan Hodges Music Publishing. Brian is also a frequent member of The Brian Herrin Band doin both full band and duo shows.

Some of Brian’s influences include BB King, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Michael Bloomfield, SRV, Joey Landreth, Julian Lage, Jack White, Vince Gill, SLASH, Robben Ford, and Gary Clark Jr. to name a few.

His diversity and willingness to adapt in the industry, as well as his appreciation for the legends of music themselves, offers a unique twist to any band. Let Brian set the tone for you!
